Did you know that my intention jewelry business started out as a Covid lay-off inspired crochet hobby?
If you're not happy in your work life, this post is a must read for you.
At nearly 37 years old, I'd never even considered selling handmade jewelry, and fervently believed I wasn't artistically talented. Yet here I am, nearly 4 years later, running my own demi-fine jewelry business full time.
I won't lie, I'm still trying to figure out how to grow my online sales and make my business sustainable long-term to support my little family. As a single mom, the in-person craft shows are really hard on my young daughters who need me with them. But I'm really so proud of how far I've come, and I've truly never been happier.
I frequently speak with folks who aren't happy in their careers but feel pigeonholed into their area of expertise simply because it's what they have experience doing. They're good at it, and perhaps they've worked their way up to some level of comfortable success.
Starting over feels scary and intimidating, as if it's a backward step.
As someone who has dipped my toes into quite a few different waters over the course of my post-university adulthood, trust me, I can relate.
However, like my Infinity intention jewelry remind us, we're all in this infinite experience of creating our lives and how things have gone in the past doesn't pre-determine how they'll go in the future.

Your life is only ever actually happening right now, in real-time. And this moment is always a blank slate - you get to choose what you're going to fill it with.
Those 'now' choices are the very ones that shape what your future will look like.
I taught myself to crochet using YouTube tutorials, and found I LOVED making a beautiful physical item with my hands. It felt SO good.
And, while I picked it up quickly, it turned out to be more of the match than the burning flame for me.
It was just something I thought I might enjoy - I didn't actually know yet. It had no value or meaning on its own. But when I struck that match, it created a spark.
I enjoyed crochet, but the process was too slow for me. However, it inspired me to keep exploring what sparked joy.
That spark led me to getting a second-hand Cricut to create with, to crafting inspiring bracelets with beads for friends, to working with jewelry findings, designing unique resin jewelry pieces, and eventually, to learning to metalsmith jewelry.
I feel that evolution is SO important to highlight!
Because it shows that the first thing you try doesn't have to be THE thing you stick with. It's just a starting point, on an ever-evolving journey of following your joy.
Discovering my talent and passion for handcrafted metal jewelry inspired me to incorporate my coaching and mindfulness training to create intention jewelry.
Following my intuition and passion helped me create a unique jewelry business that bridges the gap between the desire for self-growth and the practical application of mindfulness practices that support you to actually evolve, and marry it with style, fashion, and art. All the things that I have always loved most. (Other than my people of course!)
Now, I'm not saying you should skirt all responsibilities and quit your job right this moment.
I'm just suggesting you create space for the life you want and find alignment with the emotional experience you desire for it like my Manifestation jewelry encourages. And I strongly believe that intuitively pursuing things that spark your joy, passion, and satisfaction, are a big key to fostering that experience.

So, my best advice if you're unhappy with your job?
Explore new things that have at any point piqued your interest.
Try out something new, anything that interests you, and don't be afraid to pivot and branch off whenever something different pulls your attention excitedly - that high-flying feeling is how to know your intuition is guiding you!
Follow those breadcrumbs of joy and excitement to forge a path that brings you somewhere new, maybe even unexpected, but entirely, deeply satisfying.
And if I can support you on that journey with my inspirational intention jewelry, I'd be honored to help.
